Our Future

Since our adventures in Nashville, Spencer has decided that the Vanderbilt program of Masters in Nursing is for him. It's only 12 months and it has a subspecialty in cardiology, which is exactly what he wants. The only other program would be Duke, but being a 2 yr program, would be twice as expensive (considering living expenses).

So, we have made a new goal: Save everything we can so when we move to Nashville in Aug 2013, we can live off our savings, and loans will pay for school. That way it would be easier to pay them off faster. Spencer was told in the OPen house that the government will take away subsidized loans for masters in the next school year. Meaning, that interest will start accumulating as soon as you take the loan out, wanting us to take out as little as possible.

I am kind of exciting to live somewhere new. It will be scary cause we have no family there, but we found this town 15 miles from Nashville. Mt Juliet is so cute. All house have basements and made out of brick. Right off the highway, we have a huge shopping center (like an outdoor mall). It has a bank, tons of restaurants, several grocery stores, clothing stores, and several electronic stores. You drive down the street and there are several apartment buildings. Most of the apartments there have a washer/dryer included in the rent (also includes water/sewage/trash). ANd it is relatively cheaper than here. So it is entirely possible to live off our savings. There are also several kids' parks within walking distance.

I am so glad that Spencer found something that he can do for the rest of his life. We can finally finish school and finally settle down and buy a house somewhere in the midwest. We are actually thinking about living in Texas, because it's so central to the US and it has some big cities we can visit within a few hours' drive. We'll see what the future holds for us....one thing is for sure.. we decided no more babies until we're done..poor little Dominic will have no siblings for the first 3 years of his life, but that is okay...he will have plenty of friends in the neighborhood and church.

So, we will start saving and getting rid of things soon...but we're excited about our new adventures...

Who knows? Maybe after he's done and working as an NP, I can go back to school and get a job in my field too.
