May Flowers

The landscape is so pretty these days...everything is SO green. We have had a lot of storms and bad rains...a lot of flooding...basically if you live by a river, your're doomed. Downtown St Louis is so bad...I think somebody told me that river is planning to rise an extra 30 feet this season....that's horrible.

Ethan went to the eye doctor to get new glasses....his RX changed...and I"m happy to report that he has not had any eye infections since Feb....that is amazing news. I am keeping tabs on how often he washes his hands...so that may be helping him.

He is also done with preschool....he did so well. We had a picnic the last day of school with all of our school friends...which happened to be the coldest day for the month with 50 degree weather....nobody showed up...except a few moms.  Next year, he will be going M-F all morning...and I am so excited for him. We recently discovered he taught himself how to read! I guess from all the nightime stories...he memorized words (sight reading essentially) and he can tell you A LOT of words....and he actually guesses really well some times. He loves that play ground Spencer bought. He's the one that uses the most. He loves those monkey bars and rock climbing rocks. He loves being outside after lunch and spending a few minutes out there exercising and wearing himself out.

He got invited to a couple of birthday parties and he was so excited...that Dominic was not invited. It seems, since he's stuck in the middle, a brother always has to tag along....but this time..it was all him and he loved being by himself with his friends...no baby and no Dominic.

He also started swimming lessons and he is loving these "big boy" lessons....he loves splashing around and using noodles to move around the pool.

He also is done with Speech Therapy until August...Ms Nikki will still be our teacher but we wont see her until the next school year. He's excited to be done...it's like a real summer vacation for him...no school and no appointments.

Dominic lost his first tooth...finally! He kept telling me it was wiggly, but i didn't pay attention to him, because he had been telling me that for days. It finally fell at school while they were having an ice cream party to celebrate the end of the year. He said he almost ate it, instead he told the teacher and she sent him to the nurse. The nurse wrote a cute poem note for him to remember to put it under his pillow and gave him a tiny treasure chest to put the tooth in. He came home so excited. He's trying to make other teeth fall off....

He started swim lessons and is loving the water...he's the water baby...Dom loves the water. Whatever he can do to get in....he does it.

Bopi and Nana came to visit right after Easter to spend time with us. I wanted to take them on so many adventures, but Dominic couldn't miss school. But Ethan had a lot of fun with them in the mornings (while Dom was not here) and they helped us in the yard a lot! Nana helped me in the garden and Bopi helped Spencer with the landscape and helped us install some ceiling fans in the boys' bedrooms. It was very nice to see them before they leave on their third mission. Next time we seen them, will probably be October because Aunt Kristi is getting married! But it will be super fast....the next time will be in 2021.....where there is a rumor of a family reunion for all 9 Coffey kids and their families....can you imagine? There were 21 grandkids a few years back ...I've lost count since then...
